
About Navnita
An Economics graduate from Miranda House Delhi, Navnita began her editing career at TV 18, with iconic shows like 'Amul India Show' and 'Bhanwar'. She went on to specialize in Film Edting from Film & Television Institute of India, Pune. After graduating from FTII in 2004, Navnita has edited several award winning Feature Films, Web series, Short films, Advertisement and Documentary Films. She has also done extensive work for Bangladesh and the Middle East and collaborated with teams from USA & UK. She has just finished editing a Bollywood feature film for Viacom and a Docu series for a leading production house in Mumbai. Navnita has also been the in house editor of Production houses like Apocalypso and the post-production house Prime Focus.
Navnita won the prestigious Filmfare award in 2025, for 'Best Editing' for her Marathi film 'Ghaath'. She donned the director's hat when she wrote and directed a short film `Visitors’ which, won her the award for ‘Best Director’ and ‘Best Short Film’ in two prestigious international film festivals. Her passion for storytelling and ability to add meaningful layers to the narrative, makes her a much sought after film professional both, in mainstream and the alternative space.
